The environmental management system
Environmental requirements are integrated in Stralfors Operational System. Most of the operations are certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
Production, products and facilities
Stralfors develops, produces and delivers a large number of products, which have varying effects on the environment. By assessing the environmental effect of each product throughout its entire lifecycle, a holistic picture of its environmental effects is created. Environmental effects depend mainly on use of resources in the form of raw materials, energy consumption, transport, chemicals and how effectively materials are utilised. Stralfors operates in several countries. Each country’s environmental legislation and regulations are complied with.
Environmental legislation
The Group’s operations in the various countries are followed up regularly by authorities. In Sweden, the label production operations in Gothenburg and Åstorp must be notified to the authorities. Operations requiring authority permits are conducted in Ljungby and cover Business Areas Graphics, Information Logistics and Supplies. This requirement also applies to Group staff functions. Each year, emission data and compliance with the permit conditions are reported to each respective operation’s supervisory authority.
Objective-oriented work
Each business area carries out regular analyses to identify environmental risks, establish environmental goals and implement measures that are followed up with surveys. The environmental work of each business area is presented on its respective pages in this sustainability report. Below are some of the Group’s most important joint efforts described.
Internal surveys and other routines
Internal surveys are carried out regularly by work managers and safety representatives. They look at environmental risks, fire risks, working environment and any potential shortcomings, and ensure that these are remedied. The surveys have considerable reduced workplace risks. All units have lists of their chemical products and corresponding potential the risks for health and environment. Routines for handling near accidents and accidents are implemented.
