The price, established in 2004 on account of Mr Parkander’s 80th anniversary, was distributed for the first time. Awarded receivers are the brothers Sven och Hans-Olof Bodevind, the owners of Henjo Plåtteknik in Ljungby. The Göthe Parkanders price was established by the Stralfors’ board in order to be distributed yearly to business oriented persons, who, through their activities, have given proof of the same entrepreneurial thinking that characterized Mr Parkander’s life-work. A motivation that was very well met by Sven and Hans-Olof Bodevind, whose company, Henjo Plåtteknik, is a very good example on enterprising spirit and entrepreneurial thinking of Småland.
Henjo Plåtteknik was founded in 1945 by the father, who started a small forge. This was gradually taken over by his sons, Sven and Hans-Olof Bodevind, who have managed the business during the latest 25 years. Hard working and enterprising spirit developed Henjo Plåtteknik into a successful subcontractor, who specialized in manufacturing of thick and middle-thick metal.
During a period of 10 years, from 1994 to 2004, Henjo Plåtteknik increased the turnover from 20 million Swedish Kronor to 70 millions. For 2005 the company expects an increase of further 10 millions. ¨Current investments have resulted in advanced machinery for the whole manufacturing process. Henjo Plåtteknik, which is certified according to the standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, has 72 employees. Examples on their customers, who are mostly situated in the near surroundings, are Kalmar Industries, Electrolux, Burtech, Enertech, Metso, Dynapac.
The distribution of prize took place in connection with a seminar about successful enterprising and leadership that was held by Stralfors together with the Centre for Information Logistics in Ljungby. The prize was handed over by Björn Parkander, son of Mr Göthe Parkander who passed away on February 10th this year.
