Stralfors, a subsidiary group of Posten, has signed an agreement with Edita today, about taking over the Tandsbyn printing work in Sweden. The acquisition means that Stralfors takes over Edita’s operation of giro products and administrative printed matters. The Tandsbyn printing work has a turnover of about 38 MSEK and 40 employees. Stralfors takes over the whole printing operation as well as the personnel.
Stralfors is one of two certified security printers in the Nordic region and has a long experience of security printing. Already in 1965 Stralfors started its production of personalised checks. To achieve the best possible synergies of this acquisition Stralfors intends to move its existing giro production in Ljungby to Tandsbyn. This co-ordination will to a certain point also include other parts within the security and form production.
"The acquisition of the Tandsbyn printing work gives us a lot of synergy gains within the giro production”, says Ulf Sköld, President Division Graphic Solutions, Stralfors. “It will strengthen our market position and support both our present and future customers. Through the acquisition we also contribute to a consolidation of the graphic industry in an active way".

"One of the most important parts in this work was the restructure and concentration of the Tandsbyn operation. The giro printing work in Tandsbyn does not suit into Edita’s future core business. It was, however, important to us to secure the future of this operation. Therefore we feel very confident about Stralfors taking over the baton concerning that this kind of operation should have a stable and long-term owner".
Edita Tandsbyn AB, a wholly owned subsidiary to Edita Sweden AB, is part of the Edita Group owned by the Finnish state. Edita, having had a diversified business in Sweden, has changed its strategy during the past time and is now focusing on products and services within market communication. The Tandsbyn printing work is a supplier to Bankgirot (Swedish bank giro services) since 1958.
