Stralfors continues to streamline – sells shares in joint-owned company

03/07/2007

Stralfors has today learned that Böwe Systec International GmbH wishes to exercise its right to buy Stralfors’s 50-percent stake in the jointly owned company, Lasermax Roll Systems AB. The sale of the shares is a further step in the process of streamlining Stralfors business that has been taking place over recent years.

Lasermax Roll Systems was established on 30 September 2004 through a merger between the Stralfors Lasermax business area and Roll Systems Inc. USA, which was owned by Böwe. Even then, Stralfors made clear its long-term intention to withdraw from this aspect of its operations. Consequently, the shareholders’ agreement between Stralfors and Böwe contains option clauses that have entered into effect in 2007, enabling Stralfors to sell its 50-percent holding to Böwe and entitling Böwe to purchase Stralfors’s stake in the business.

The transaction will be finalised during July/August, after which Lasermax Roll Systems AB will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Böwe Systec International GmbH.

Lasermax Roll Systems manufactures pre- and post-print paper management facilities for high-speed printers. The company has annual sales of SEK 440 million and a workforce of just over 200.
