Strålfors TradeCom Solutions has developed a new system for e-business solutions for Tamro Health Care, one of Sweden’s biggest distributors of pharmaceuticals, medical and health care products. The solution includes everything from Internet to EDI communication (standardized electronic documents sent between computers). Strålfors also has the responsibility for the running and maintenance of the system via its own Web hotel and server.
Tamro Health Care, whose headquarters are in Gothenburg, sells health care material and pharmaceuticals to 125 000 consumers in the Swedish health care services every year, and processes more than 2000 incoming orders every day. The company’s net sales amount to MSEK 400 and it has 45 employees.
Savings, greater efficiency and the elimination of risks
Much of Tamro Health Care’s manual administrative work disappears because of the new system. Lead times have been shortened and the risk of errors eliminated. As Tamro’s product catalogue is now on the Internet, the company has also been able to reduce the cost of printing and updating the catalogue.
A password is all that the Tamro Health Care customer needs to be able to see on the Internet their own current product catalogue and the prices concluded by agreement. The customer has greater control of the deliveries and back orders. By clicking on a link in Tamro’s product catalogue the customer can access the manufacturers’ databases to find out more about the products. The order can also be filled in directly on the Internet.
The new system enables Tamro Health Care’s customers to communicate with each other, for example, between different care units. A Web-based news service has also been created to bring Tamro Health Care closer to its customers. The news service will keep customers constantly updated with relevant information.
