Stralfors, the leading company in the Nordic countries in the field of information logistics, has signed a letter of intent with regard to the acquisition of Telia’s output data management operation. The planned deal means that Telia will be focusing on its core business and handing over the output data management operation to Stralfors. Telia intends in the future to buy the corresponding services from Stralfors.
The output data management unit writes out and distributes the telephone bills and marketing mailshots for the Telia Group’s various business areas. The intention is to sign an agreement between the parties that would be valid for several years with regard to these services.
Stralfors will continue to run the operation for a short time at Telia’s premises, but intends to move it to Stralfors’ plant at Nacka Strand in Stockholm in the summer of 2001. The business is expected to increase dramatically over the next few years.
Outsourcing within the field of crucial business information is a rapidly growing market. Stralfors has already announced that it is assembling the breadth of its services, competence and experience in outsourcing within information logistics in its newly-established Business Area, Information Logistics. The Business Area supplies total solutions encompassing printing, database handling, logistics, card solutions, electronic processing of credit cards and electronic document handling. Stralfors is thus spearheading development by combining modern graphic competence with new electronic solutions, input- and output data management and physical logistics.
